On Saturday, April 25th, an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.8 struck Nepal near the capital of Kathmandu. More than 4,600 people have died across the region, including in Nepal, India and Bangladesh, and over 9,000 more were injured. International Medical Corps is on the ground helping the earthquake survivors – they need our support.
Survivors in Nepal Need Our Help
About International Medical Corps
International Medical Corps’ emergency response teams are operating mobile medical units to deliver critically needed medical care to the regions hit hardest by the earthquake. They’re distributing hygiene kits, water purification tablets and other supplies to keep surviving families healthy.
Moving forward, your gift will help teams support survivors, restore healthcare and help Nepal rebuild.
“So far, the death toll is over 3,350 and rising, and 30 out of the 75 districts in Nepal have been affected by the quake. Our emergency response team has been on the ground since April 25 when the quake struck, assessing the damage, delivering critically needed medicines and supplies and mobilizing to provide emergency care to survivors. International Medical Corps is deploying additional staff and resources as quickly as possible to support relief efforts and is operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in Gorkha near the epicenter and will be expanding our MMUs to reach the hardest-hit.” – InternationalMedicalCorps.org
